Requiem 1605

Wednesday 20th March 2019, 19.15

St Paul’s Church, Churchside, Chichester, PO19 6FT

NMH perform Victoria’s final, poignant work, which has been described as the masterpiece of the Spanish Renaissance. Beautiful plainchant melodies are woven throughout the work - either exposed by a solo voice or wrapped in sumptuous choral writing to create a work of mesmering beauty, which will ring around the staggering acoustic of St Paul’s Church.

Set alongside two other masterpieces by J.S. Bach - in particular his monumental eight-part motet, Komm, Jesu, komm - an uplifting plea for the coming of Jesus.
