NMH was founded in 2013 by a group of Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars from the world famous choir of Christ Church, Oxford.
Drawing on outstanding young professional singers from London colleges and consorts, Oxford and Cambridge colleges, and Winchester and Chichester Cathedrals, the choir has attracted attention for its intimate performances and exciting blend.
NMH takes its name from the opening line of the grace read out each evening before dinner at Christ Church. ’Nos miseri homines et egeni...’ meaning ‘We unworthy and miserable men...’. It is not a comment on the disposition of the singers.
